Silhouettes
01:18
|
|||
She catches a glimpse of herself in the reflection of her mirror
The wrinkles of old age are starting to come through
Picture perfect youth will never last forever
Now the clock has ticked over, there’s no return
Chorus:
And so she tells herself:
"Just ignore everyone else,
It's not who you are, it's what you've done."
One can only be defined and judged by their actions
An audience can only last so long
As acceptance breeds self-deceit in the form of imitation
A black sheep in one pack, but a white one in another
Coming out of the darkness they’re spitting out wasted words
She stands back and watches the silhouettes dance around
And it's in this moment of clarity she develops some self assurance:
There are just some things you can live without
It’s not who you are, it’s what you’ve done.

Uncertainty
01:58
|
|||
What use is a voice, when it constantly falls on deaf ears?
What use is a mind, when it is never put to use?
How have we managed, to distance ourselves from each other
And regress into our own bomb shelters to hide from the truth?
Chorus
I just can’t work out, how we’re so obsessed with ourselves
Yet we have so many insecurities.
Constantly cast stones before looking in the mirror
Because it’s just so god damn easy
Self inflicted destruction it seems.
What is this void that we feel and how does a fictional character remove it?
Why does pain come in waves, yet still remain so constant?
How have we managed, to dig ourselves so deep inside these holes
And watch others suffer at our expense?

The Well
03:04
|
|||
So here we are, we’ve gifted ourselves another poor excuse to live
The constant flow of nothingness drags us into this well of depression
Watch us gasping for air, watch us struggling to get out
As we search for a means of satisfaction with our eyes shut
Chorus
Burning Bridges
Is there nothing we can do?
We’re trapped inside the underworld and we’re not getting out
Watch as the mountain of bodies grows in the battle for the top
Apathetic to those underneath as they make their way up
Eyes fixed high with tunnel vision
Palms clutching hope, mind makes insane decisions
We’re jaded between want and reality
Listen to the echoes of the voices shouting, their prayers have gone unheard
Selected hearing and vision are the cause of our mirrored words
Yet we are the masons of these walls and it’s time to find another way out
Or continue choking on the irony.

Wasting Time
01:18
|
|||
The desire for perfection is shining through
Chapped hands go home empty with nothing to prove
Except the blessing of ignorance and apathy in society
Beauty prevails as people mask who they are
Insecurities have become a commercial venture
As the words ‘self worth’ become more meaningless
CHORUS
We’re wasting time, we’re wasting breath
Gifted with a mind, but granted with greed
Lives conform to the flashing images that they see
Identities are developed through material things
Weight loss marketed for the happiness it will bring
To the starving, diets don’t mean a fucking thing
More open hands ignored by shrinking waist lines
Bridge:
And have we disregarded morals?
As lives are reduced to dollar signs
This underlying power of obsession
Consuming us, as masses scream their lungs out
We’re wasting time
We’re wasting time, we’re wasting breath, walking over the bodies of broken men
We’re wasting time, we’re wasting breath

Raped by the Law
01:34
|
|||
Clint never knew what his actions would bring
But 20years down the line she was still in pain
Intimate moments that once brought them together
Now the regret would tear her apart
Words manipulated and neglected
Ignored, anything they could do to save them
So summon your guardian angels
You’ve got a battle so take the stand
Chorus
The demons are out for you tonight
Polished, suited and ready to fight.
Watching eyes cut like daggers
As fear consumes the two of them
The memories that they once had together
Flash by, filled with pain and anger
But now as the final darkness approaches
And it doesn’t look like the sky is parting
They’re still searching for truth in the words
Of liars determined for self preservation
Raped by the law.

Bones
01:03
|
|||
Footsteps sound in unison as they’re marching down the street
Fists clenched tight, adrenaline pumps the rage is consuming
Closed minds manipulate those searching for self worth
Strong willed hearts in numbers supporting a militant cause
Chorus
And now they’re breaking bones
The bones of so called foes
The puppeteer is dancing as he is pulling at their strings
Are they searching for a substance to remedy their existence?
Venerability is moulded and now they’re full of resent
Breathe the same air, they shed the same tears, but differ in opinion
Bridge:
I’m starting to feel sub-human
As these (alleged) ‘green pastures’ darken
Under the impression beliefs are reinforced when coupled with violence
Once the circle of hate has rotated, what does it all amount to?
